Jacinta Hayne is an Australian-born visual artist and former film professional based in New York.

Her creative career began in the film industry, working as an Assistant Director and Production Manager on feature films, commercials, and stills productions with Directors including Wim Wenders, James Cameron, and George Miller.

Her photography has been exhibited in solo and group shows in both Sydney and New York, and is held in several private collections. She was recognized by the Australian Consulate in New York as an emerging Australian artist.

Jacinta’s visual education has been shaped by both viewing the work of photographic masters across European galleries and working closely with cinematic visionaries on set. She has also pursued formal study through programs at the Maine Photo Workshops, the International Center of Photography (ICP), and the Penumbra Foundation’s Long Term Photobook Program.

“If we’d opened people up, we’d find landscapes.” – Agnès Varda

Rooted in a meditative practice, her photography explores internal and external landscapes, often incorporating the human body as a site of memory, emotion, and transformation. She seeks both solitude and connection through image-making, inviting viewers to look inward, into the darkness, to uncover what lies beneath.
